MARSALA (KM 30 far from Trapani)
Garibaldi landed in the port of Marsala with its Thousand and joined the Sicilian "picciotti" who joined the expedition. He gives freedom to southern Italy suffocating Bourbon kingdom to deliver it then to Vittorio Emanuele.
Marsala is rich in Punic, Roman, Arabic and Spanish witnesses among which the necropolis of age Punic, the Roman Villa with its wonderful mosaics of the fifth century are of particular interest and the exceptional findings of marine archaeology of the Second Punic ship and the establishments of Marsala wine too.
